Case Mountain, Manchester

With 13 hiking trails and miles of mountain biking paths, Case Mountain has something for everyone. I recently hiked the 4.5-mile Lookout Mountain Loop which leads to a beautiful scenic overlook with a view of downtown Hartford. The hike is relatively easy (no significant inclines or declines), but is a bit rocky and heavily forested, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring bug spray.

We parked at the Line St. Lot in Manchester and entered the path directly across the street; following the yellow tree marks up to Case Mountain Summit. The hike took a few hours in total, but can be shortened or extended as you’d like by hopping on adjoining trails. It’s a great place to get out and spend some time in nature.
